Desktop or flush-mounted IP Intercoms

These Intercoms also use VOIP techniques and Peer-To-Peer protocol for audio transfer over data networks. Each intercom is IP-native and uses only the Ethernet network to which it connects directly without the need for interfaces, additional management units or central units of any kind.

The intercoms illustrated below are usually used in the main stations of the system, which are used for communication with all other intercoms, or at least as prominent stations, which are used for communication with a subset of the equipment installed in the system.

However, since in Peer-To-Peer protocol systems the main posts do not have system management functions but are merely devices with more extensive and prominent functionality, these consoles can also be used in any quantity such as when, for example, it is necessary to ensure communication between all the operators of a particularly extensive system.

Desktop Intercoms with direct call buttons can have either 8 or 16 programmable buttons and can use either a gooseneck microphone with loudspeaker for hands-free communication or a telephone handset for use in noisy environments or when confidentiality of conversations must be maintained.

A version is also available for flush-mounting in the control desks of production lines, which are available with 5, 10 or 16 buttons; in both versions, table-top or flush-mounted, each button is associated with a signalling LED and a tag holder for the description of the function assigned to the button itself.

The buttons do not have predefined functions but can be freely programmed to activate the call to other intercoms, to activate general or group public address as well as to activate the relays available on the equipment with which you are connected or on an I/O unit.

The flexibility with which the function of each button can be determined allows the simultaneous use of the same device for the management of different functions, e.g. in addition to the Intercom function it will be possible to use this IP Intercom as a microphone console for a public address system capable of controlling several audio gateways even divided into different sound zones. The LAN is connected via an RJ45 socket and the intercoms are powered at 230Vac via a VDE socket.

These IP Intercoms have all-metal housings and are characterised by a numeric combination keypad and an LCD display which are the control instruments for selecting the intercom to be connected and other system management functions.

The front panel features a loudspeaker, a numeric combination keypad, function keys and an LCD display to control the apparatus; conversation is via a gooseneck microphone or telephone handset while a loudspeaker plays call tones, general and group announcements.

The version with microphone and loudspeaker is usually the most widely used, but the version with telephone handset is more suitable in the presence of strong ambient noise.

With these IP desk consoles it is possible to broadcast general or group announcements over the loudspeakers of other intercoms installed in the system; for broadcasting in areas not covered by intercoms, additional audio gateways over LAN can be used as sound reinforcement units.
